Angela's funeral went by in a blur and I wish I could recall some of the special things that were said by many people both during and after the funeral. I don't know how, but I managed to say many of the things that I wanted to say about Angela on the day. As it captures how I feel about her, I wanted to share it again with everyone. Angela - A loving wife to Andrew, a devoted Mummy to Megan and Joseph and a beloved daughter and sister to Jenny, Bob and Andrew. And to many of us here the best friend you could ever wish for. There was something unique about you - for most of us, many of the people we meet simply become acquaintances or people we never see again. Whereas with you, everyone you met seemed to become a friend. You warmth, openness and honesty drew everyone to you. These words are a personal tribute from me, but I am sure much of this will resonate with many of you here. Me, Glyn and the boys had the honour of knowing you for just 8 short years. In that time you have shown me what it means to be a true friend. Always there to do anything for anyone and always putting others needs before your own, even in those last few months. I will never forget when Isaac was born last year - two weeks after your illness was diagnosed - how you apologised that you wouldn’t be able to help me. A typical example of your selflessness. We shared many special times together, one of the best times I recall was when we went to Blackpool in May this year to celebrate Glyn’s 40th birthday. I will never forget the look on your face as we sat on one of those scary roller coasters - you weren’t sure about going on, but as always you wouldn’t let it get the better of you. We will continue - as I promised you - to spend many special times with Andrew and the kids, but there will always be a void there where you should be. Megan and Joseph - you are an inspiration to us. You are a testament to Mummy’s devotion and love for you. I only wish she was here to see you blossom and grow. We are all here for you - as we are for Daddy - as you take every step of the difficult road ahead. Andrew - you have been amazing in the last few weeks. The way in which you cared for Angela in those difficult times made it clear to everyone the love you had for her and should serve as a lesson to us all. Jenny and Bob - you’re daughter was a credit to you. May you take comfort from seeing all these people here today who loved her so much. Angela - you fought so hard and showed incredible courage, but you could fight no longer. May you rest in peace, free from pain and suffering. You will never be forgotten, your spirit will stay with us forever.
